Set fit tolerances before reading the listing

Write the wearing job first: close-fitting base, relaxed standalone shirt, under-layer, or another specific role. Measure a familiar T-shirt on a flat surface without stretching it. Record pit-to-pit width, shoulder span, back length from a stated point, sleeve length with endpoints, sleeve opening, neck opening, and hem width. Preserve the seller’s original numbers and method; do not silently double a width, round a value, or merge centimeters and inches. If a tape curves, floats above the fabric, begins away from zero, or hides an endpoint, mark the field for clarification rather than correcting it yourself.

Check internal consistency without inventing a specification. Front and back views should match the measured garment, sleeve endpoints should correspond to the pictured sleeve, and the condition image set should show the same graphics and labels. A measurement copied from another offer is not evidence for this shirt. If a seller cannot reconnect a number to the current garment, keep that dimension unresolved.

Map print, neckline, seam, and surface condition

Create a zone sequence: front body, back body, neckline inside and outside, shoulders, underarms, sleeves, side seams, hem, labels, graphic edges, and every disclosed flaw. Ask for normal-light full views before close views. Record visible cracking, lifting, abrasion, holes, stains, distortion, pilling, repairs, and altered stitching only as observations shown or stated; do not diagnose cause, material, care history, or future durability.

Use paired left-and-right views for sleeves, shoulders, and underarms so one clean area does not stand in for the whole garment. Request angled light only as an additional view, not a replacement for neutral coverage. If graphic appearance changes across photographs, preserve the conflict and ask whether lighting, editing, or a different garment explains it. Similar decoration cannot establish identity or authenticity.

Build a seller-evidence and offer snapshot

Save the URL, access date, seller name as displayed, item reference, complete title and description, all images, stated condition, measurements, included items, currency, shipping terms, payment route, and return language. Save edits as new versions. The packet should let another reader distinguish seller statements from your observations and connect every relied-upon field to one candidate.

Ask direct, answerable questions: Are the photographs current? Do they show the offered shirt? Which measurements were taken by the seller? Are repairs, alterations, odors, stains, holes, cleaning, or missing attachments disclosed? Do not convert a prompt response, price, packaging, tag, graphic, or one marking into proof of identity, seller authority, or authenticity. Those require a separate, scope-matched evidence process.

Price the delivered and usable scenarios

Create a total-cost line for the item amount, tax, delivery, possible duties, currency conversion, payment fees, insurance, and any assessment needed before the return deadline. Keep optional cleaning, tailoring, or other service outside the purchase total until exact applicable instructions and eligibility are known. Add a return-exposure line covering tracked shipping, insurance, deductions, exchange-rate change, and nonrefundable charges.

Compare candidates on a common destination, currency date, and inclusion basis. A lower headline amount can produce a higher exposure if evidence is weak or the return path is costly. Do not estimate missing fees as zero. Mark them unknown, request a written quote or policy, and pause when the range could change the decision.
